Available now, the MSR7805UW is a family of compact switching voltage regulators. Six standard models, operating from inputs as wide as 10:1 (9 to 90 VDC), provide a single, tightly regulated output of 3.3, 5.0, 6.5, 9.0, 12, or 15VDC at 500 mA.
Standard features include efficiency as high as 93%, low noise operation and very tight line/load regulation. The MSR7805UW is protected (continuously with auto recovery) against short circuit faults. The MTBF of the series is greater than 2M hours(per MIL HDBK 217F).
All models are fabricated in a compact, industry standard package that is pin compatible with LM78xx units. All models are available with right-angle pins.Each model is specified for operation over the wide industrial operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C with no heat sinking required. Cooling is by free-air convection.
The MSR7805UW series offers many advantages including an ultra wide input voltage range, very high efficiency, a wide operating temperature range (with no heat sink requirement) and a significant reduction in product size. A 1A series will be available soon.
