Case Study: Industrial Controls – Signal Control & Monitoring

Project Overview

Modular electronic systems used the MA300RUI and ME100SI to deliver compact, isolated DC power in high-interference, space-limited environments.

A company specializing in industrial sensing and automation technologies needed compact, reliable power supplies to support signal control and monitoring across modular systems. Commonly used in factory automation and process instrumentation, these systems demanded clean, isolated power in tight spaces—capable of withstanding electrical noise and varied conditions without compromising design flexibility.

Key design goals included:

  • Wide input range for flexible integration
  • Strong isolation to protect low-voltage signals
  • Compact footprints for modular layouts
  • Built-in filtering and protection for reliability

The engineering team selected two DC/DC converters from MicroPower Direct to meet their design goals. The MA300RUI delivers 3W of power with a 4:1 input range, 3,000 VDC isolation, and UL 62368 approval—offering high efficiency and reliable performance in a compact DIP case. Complementing it is the ME100SI, a 1W SIP converter that provides 3,000 VDC isolation in an ultra-miniature form factor, allowing for protected power delivery to individual circuit blocks without sacrificing valuable board space.

Together, these modules deliver stable, low-noise power while preserving layout flexibility—supporting long-term performance across the customer’s system variants.
