A motion control OEM serving aerospace and defense markets was developing a compact power subsystem for an advanced control platform. The system needed to deliver stable, noise-resistant power for real-time feedback, servo control, and embedded communication—while withstanding electrical stress and ensuring long-term reliability.
Key Design Goals:
- 1,500–3,000 VDC isolation for protection and noise immunity
- Compact MiniDIP and DIP packages
- Wide 4:1 input range for flexible integration
- High efficiency for sealed enclosures
The engineering team selected MicroPower Direct’s MG200BI and MA-1000RU series. The MG200BI provides 2W of isolated power with up to 3,000 VDC isolation in a miniature SIP package—ideal for sensitive control loops. The MA1000RU offers 10W of regulated output with robust performance in rugged environments, available in a compact module with industry-standard pinout. Together, these models provided a flexible solution that balanced isolation, space efficiency, and proven EMI performance.
The MPD converters enabled a compact, integrated power subsystem that met stringent space, isolation, and performance requirements. Their long-term field performance has supported uninterrupted operation and contributed to the reliability and responsiveness of the customer’s motion control platform.
