RoHS Compliance

As a leading supplier of power conversion components, MPD is committed to full compliance with the European Union Directive 2002/95/EC. This legislation restricts the use of six environmentally hazardous materials in electrical and electronic equipment. These restrictions are effective beginning July 1, 2006.

The directive limits the use of the following substances:
 • Lead (Pb)
 • Mercury (Hg)
 • Cadium (Cd)
 • Hexavalent Chromium (Cr+6)
 • Polybrominated Biphenyl (PBB)
 • Polybrominated Diphenyl Ether (PBDE)

MPD is following a two stage plan to provide products that fully meet these restrictions. Quite simply, this is as follows:

1.
 All new products under development are being designed to meet RoHS requirements. This engineering policy has been in place since the Spring of 2005.
2.
 Existing products are being scheduled for conversion to fully compliant designs. This has already been accomplished on many models.
 
Beginning in Q4 2005, MPD began apply the  symbol to products that met the RoHS directive. Compliance to the limits of Directive 2002/95/EC is verified by independent testing labs. As they are published, we will post these reports to this website. Reports currently available may be accessed off the applicable product summary page. For example, on the summary data page for the D100, just click on the (located below the picture). A pdf copy of the report for that model will come up.

As a note of caution; in this period of inventory transition please indicate to our customer service people if RoHS compliant product is absolutely required.
